Pure Power Wrestling to celebrate five years

It’s been five years of Spandex, screaming fans and body slams. What better way to celebrate than to do what they are best at?

On March 19, Pure Power Wrestling turns five – and they are celebrating that milestone by presenting a fully-loaded professional wrestling card at “Anniversary Extravaganza 5.”

“We are thrilled to be celebrating five years,” Kevin Farrell, PPW marketing director indicated in a news release. “It’s been an exciting road that has seen us perform in front of crowds from Brandon to Blairmore, and Lethbridge north to Lac La Biche.”

The evening will include a special appearance from a wrestler many fans might recognize.

Impact Wrestling and The Amazing Race star Robbie E will be facing off against cruiserweight champ Chris Perish in a match fans won’t soon forget.

Robbie E is a former Impact Wrestling Television, X-Division and World Tag Team Champion. He also appeared on The Amazing Race 25 alongside Brooke Adams, placing fourth.

Also featured on the card will be Pure Power Wrestling’s Heavyweight Champion Bulldog MacBain defending his title against “The Tattooed Terminator” Massive Damage, and high flier Kato will clash with his former friend and manager Vinnie Valentine.

Over five years, PPW has worked with international stars such as Dan “The Beast” Severn, Davey Boy Smith, Jr. and Gangrel as well as Stampede Wrestling legends Leo Burke and The Cuban Assassin.

A major focus of PPW is keeping the show a family-friendly event, which Farrell said harkens back to the glory days of Calgary’s Stampede Wrestling promotion.

“We always make sure to put on the most hard-hitting show we can while still keeping it family friendly,” he said. “Going back to the beginning of PPW, we wanted to give wrestling back to families. We wanted to put on a show like when I was younger, and my partners were younger, that mom and dad or grandma and grampa could bring their kids to. We really look at building the next generation (of fans).”

Tickets for Pure Power Wrestling’s fifth anniversary celebration Anniversary Extravaganza 5 are on sale at King of Trade, Holiday Bowl and online at purepowerwrestling.ca.
